An explosive device planted near an apartment building in Moscow killed Lt. General Igor Kirillov, head of Russia’s nuclear and chemical forces, triggering a terrorist attack investigation. Kirillov, under sanctions for his role in Ukraine, was killed along with his assistant by a bomb with the power equivalent to 300g of TNT triggered remotely. This attack follows previous incidents targeting Russian officials, including one in Donetsk and charges against Kirillov for using banned chemical weapons in Ukraine.
