A Chinese businessman, referred to as H6, lost an appeal to overturn a decision barring him from entering the UK on national security grounds after being labeled a “close confidante” of the Duke of York. The Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC) upheld the exclusion order issued by then-home secretary Suella Braverman, citing concerns that H6 had connections to Chinese officials that could be exploited for political interference and had downplayed his ties to the Chinese state. Evidence presented at the hearing revealed H6’s involvement in Prince Andrew’s affairs, including being advised by an aide to act on the duke’s behalf with potential investors and attending his birthday party in 2020, indicating a potential threat to national security.
