CCS clears Rs 20,000 crore Make in India projects for Su-30 fighter jets, 100 K-9 howitzers
The Cabinet Committee on Security approved two major projects worth around Rs 20,000 crore for 12 Su-30 MKI fighter jets and 100 K-9 Vajra Self-propelled howitzers for the Indian Air Force and Indian Army respectively. The Su-30 MKI jets will be manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited at a cost of Rs 13,000 crore, while Larsen and Toubro will produce the howitzers with increased indigenous content.
