Residents of Nant Morlais in Pant, Merthyr Tydfil were shocked when a large sinkhole opened up in their street, leading to the evacuation of around 30 homes and closure of the cul-de-sac. The cause of the sinkhole is believed to be a collapsed culvert, according to a local councillor, and the council has urged residents to stay away from the area to allow engineers to work safely. Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council reassured residents that safety is their main priority and thanked those who offered help and support.
