Dementia-stricken Windrush pensioner, 97, died in pain following years of care home ‘neglect’

Clementina Smith, a Windrush generation immigrant, died at Murrayfield Care Home in London after untreated gangrene on her foot developed into sepsis, leading to her death in June 2018. The care home admitted negligence in failing to identify the gangrene, which resulted from a pressure sore, contributing to her deteriorating health.
