LAFC decline ’25 option on Carlos Vela; return possible

Los Angeles FC recently declined to activate Carlos Vela’s option for the 2025 season, signaling a possible end to his tenure with the club. Vela, a former MLS Most Valuable Player, had a successful six-season run with LAFC, scoring 78 goals and 58 assists in 152 games. Along with Vela, the club also declined options for several other players, including Marlon, Diego Rosales, and Kei Kamara, while some players like Ilie Senchez and Aaron Long are no longer under contract with the team.
