$7B St. Thomas EV plant lands key supplier, adds job postings

PowerCo has secured a deal with Novonix to supply graphite for electric vehicle batteries, marking a significant step for the St. Thomas manufacturer expected to start production in 2027. The five-year contract will provide 32,000 tonnes of graphite material for PowerCo’s plants in Germany, Spain, and St. Thomas, with plans for expansion in North America. The $7 billion investment in the St. Thomas plant is set to create 3,000 jobs upon opening, with construction beginning in 2025 and growing demand for graphite in EV batteries driving the industry forward.
