Barrington man charged in fatal shooting of endocrinologist

A 46-year-old man, William R. Zientek, was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of his child’s mother, Olga Duchon, a 42-year-old endocrinologist in Barrington. The incident, described as a domestic dispute, took place at their shared residence where Duchon was found with a fatal gunshot wound. Prior to her death, Duchon had filed for an emergency order of protection against Zientek due to concerns for her safety, citing threats and the presence of firearms in the home.
