The police have been criticized for failing to protect Harshita Brella, a young woman found dead in the boot of a car in Ilford, east London, 100 miles from her home in Corby. Her husband, Pankaj Lamba, is suspected of murdering her and is now the subject of an international manhunt. Ms Brella, who was a victim of domestic violence, had been granted a Domestic Violence Protection Order, but critics question its effectiveness as it only lasted for 28 days.
