The storm weakened as it moved towards Taiwan, leaving destruction in its wake, while the United Nations requested $32.9m in aid for the affected regions. The country faces further threats as Tropical Storm Man-yi is forecast to hit coastal areas, potentially impacting the capital, Manila, and exacerbating the already significant damage to homes, farmland, and infrastructure.
