Lithium mine to close in WA putting 300 jobs at risk

Western Australian mining company MinRes will halt operations at its Lithium Mine at Bald, potentially risking 300 jobs due to low lithium prices. The mine, located in the WA goldfields, will transition to a “care and maintenance” shutdown to preserve cash until market conditions improve. Ten staff will remain on site for production ramp-down, with the last shipment scheduled for December.
