A judge granted prosecutors an additional 30 days to seek formal charges against Sean M. Higgins, the driver accused of killing NHL player Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew while they were cycling in New Jersey. Higgins, who was allegedly impaired at the time of the accident, faces preliminary charges of death by auto and reckless driving. The Gaudreau family declined to comment as Higgins, described as a loving father, was ordered jailed until trial, facing up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
