Yale introduces new class on Beyoncé’s political and cultural impact

Yale University will introduce a new course in the spring focusing on Beyoncé’s impact on Black intellectual thought and activism, analyzing her albums, performances, and concert films. Taught by scholar Daphne Brooks, the class will explore Black feminist theory, philosophy, and anthropology, as well as her influence on art history and musicology. This course follows a trend in universities worldwide offering classes on the cultural impact of music icons like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga.
