In Devonport, Tasmania, witnesses described a “mini tornado” carrying a jumping castle into the air, resulting in the tragic deaths of six children and serious injuries to three others. Rosemary Anne Gamble, operator of Taz-Zorb, is facing charges of failing to comply with safety standards, as the prosecution alleges that the pegs used to secure the castle did not meet Australian standards and only four were used instead of the required eight. Gamble denies the charges, stating she followed manufacturer instructions and took all reasonable steps to ensure safety. The court hearing is expected to last two weeks and will include testimony from various experts and witnesses.
