A potent storm system is set to hit the B.C. south coast with heavy rain and strong winds, prompting Environment Canada to issue weather statements for various regions including Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Residents are warned to expect 40 to 70 millimetres of rain, strong winds, and the possibility of power outages and tree damage. Wind and snow warnings are also in effect for B.C.’s mountain passes, with high, gusty winds and poor visibility expected on the Coquihalla.
