Sanctioned Indian companies procured items made in West, open markets

Over a dozen Indian firms have been sanctioned by the US for allegedly aiding Russian war efforts, despite largely procuring items from the West and open markets. These firms do not have US business accounts or violate international export control treaties, according to sources. The Indian government has stated that the sanctioned companies are not in violation of Indian laws and is working to ensure compliance with export control provisions.
