The Quebec government will announce a temporary freeze on two popular immigration programs used by individuals to gain citizenship, in an effort to cap the number of new arrivals. Immigration Minister Jean-François Roberge stated that Quebec will place a moratorium on delivering citizen selection certificates through two economic programs it controls. The freeze will take effect in 2025 and is aimed at managing the influx of immigrants to the province.
