New Delhi: The Indian Army’s four-year-old sniffer dog Phantom, a Belgian Malinois, was killed in a counter-ambush operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor sector. Phantom sustained fatal bullet injuries while protecting troops from terrorist assault. The canine warrior was a crucial asset in numerous high-stakes missions, issued from the Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC) Centre of the Indian Army.
