Labour MP suspended after punch captured on CCTV

Mike Amesbury MP has been suspended from the Labour Party after CCTV footage emerged showing him punching a constituent in Runcorn, Cheshire, who fell to the ground before being repeatedly attacked by the politician. Cheshire Police have interviewed a 55-year-old man in relation to the incident, with further inquiries pending. The Labour Party has administratively suspended Mr Amesbury’s membership pending an investigation, after he claimed to have felt threatened before the altercation.
