In a joint statement, Mrs. Viola Amherd, on behalf of eleven Security Council colleagues, reaffirmed their commitment to fully implement the Women, Peace and Security agenda, emphasizing the importance of women’s participation in peace processes, gender perspectives in peace-related activities, leveraging technology for women’s empowerment, and ensuring robust protection mechanisms. They called for increased political and financial support for women-led peacebuilding efforts to create a more peaceful and sustainable world, urging all stakeholders to reverse concerning trends and attacks on women’s rights and gender equality.
