Ireland will be represented at the United Nations climate summit in Baku, Azerbaijan by Environment and Climate Action Minister Eamon Ryan, as Taoiseach Simon Harris and Tánaiste Micheál Martin have opted to stay home. The summit, crucial for addressing rising greenhouse gas emissions and the urgent need for action, will see Minister Ryan deliver Ireland’s address at the World Leaders’ Summit and co-chair negotiations on financing climate adaptation with Costa Rica. Following his role at the summit, Minister Ryan will return to Ireland to participate in the upcoming general election campaign.
