The Defence Ministry signed a contract with a private firm to procure six Air Cushion Vehicles for the Indian Coast Guard at a total cost of Rs 387.44 crore under the Buy (Indian) category. These amphibious vessels, also known as ‘Hovercrafts’, will be manufactured in India for the first time, aligning with the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ vision and enhancing the nation’s shipping landscape. The procurement aims to boost the Indian Coast Guard’s capability for maritime security through multipurpose roles like coastal patrolling, reconnaissance, search and rescue operations, and aiding distressed ships and crafts.

Golfer Brian Harman says woman who tried to save his six-year-old son’s life is in a coma
Pro golfer Brian Harman shared that a family friend is in a coma after attempting to save his son from drowning in Florida. Cathy Dowdy, the family friend, and Crane Cantrell jumped in to rescue Harman's son, Walter, who was caught in a rip current.
