South African National Parks completed an ecological corridor in Table Mountain National Park on 22 October 2024, connecting Noordhoek and Kommetjie to enhance biodiversity. The project, started in 1998, overcame challenges with the acquisition of 439 hectares of wetland properties and a donation of 25.5 hectares by Kommetjie Estates and Red Cliff Property, supporting conservation efforts and the return of endangered fynbos in the park.
