Men, in particular, experienced feelings of regret and low satisfaction in relationships if they believed they had many dating options, while women did not show the same trends. The study suggested that some choice is beneficial for finding a partner, but an excessive amount of options could lead to choice overload and increase the likelihood of being single rather than in a relationship.
