Richard’s mother was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia at just 58 years old, leading to a devastating impact on their family as her condition deteriorated. Despite the isolation and stigma surrounding dementia, Richard’s father cared for her with the help of a retired nurse and support from the Alzheimer’s Society. Amid the sadness, there were still moments of joy, including cherished family holidays and music bringing comfort to his mother until her passing at 64 years old.
