Christopher Patrick “Crany” Laney, a Lancaster man, was indicted by a federal grand jury for using a drone to deliver fentanyl and other narcotics, resulting in a fatal overdose. Laney faces charges including distributing fentanyl resulting in death, operating an unregistered aircraft for narcotics crimes, possessing methamphetamine and fentanyl with intent to distribute, and possessing firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking. If convicted on all charges, Laney could face a minimum of 25 years in federal prison up to life imprisonment.
