As the recession worsens, government funding for foodbanks is being cut, leading to concerns about families being turned away for assistance. With over 200,000 children in families receiving welfare benefits, the social costs of reducing foodbank funding are overlooked in favor of austerity measures, leaving vulnerable families in a precarious situation.
