The back of your phone is often overlooked and underutilized. While the cameras are important, the rest of the surface area is often wasted. A fully functioning screen on the back may not be the solution due to battery drain and other factors.
Some companies, like Yota Phone, have tried to incorporate a secondary e-ink screen on the back of the device. However, this innovation did not take off as foldable devices became more popular.
Infinix’s E-Color Shift adds color to the concept of a secondary display on the back of a phone, but it is more of an aesthetic feature than a practical one.
The technology used in the E-Color Shift allows the phone’s back panel to change colors without consuming much power. However, it is still in the prototype stage and not a fully developed product.
While this technology may be interesting, it remains to be seen if it will be adopted by other companies or if it will only be available on Infinix devices. It may not be a selling point for most consumers, as the back of a phone is often covered and not visible.
