Liverpool beat Chelsea 1-0 to gift Klopp the League Cup

Liverpool has secured their 10th League Cup title with a 1-0 win against Chelsea at Wembley, thanks to a header from Virgil van Dijk.

The tense match ended 0-0 in regulation time, with van Dijk’s goal in the 28th minute of extra-time sealing the victory for Liverpool.

This win marks an eighth major silverware for Jurgen Klopp and ensures that he will not end his final season at the club empty-handed.

Despite Klopp’s impending departure at the end of the season, Liverpool’s victory in the League Cup keeps them in contention for a quadruple of trophies, as they lead the Premier League and remain in the FA Cup and Europa League.

On the other hand, Chelsea and their manager Mauricio Pochettino were left disappointed as they were hoping to win their first major trophy in England.
