President Joe Biden will visit Florida areas hit by hurricanes, announcing $612 million in federal funding for Department of Energy projects to strengthen the electrical grid, with $94 million allocated to two projects in Florida. The projects aim to improve storm hardening and restoration efforts in the face of extreme weather events, such as Hurricane Milton, which left at least 16 people dead and over a million without power. Biden has engaged with state and local officials, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and plans to meet with him on Sunday as part of the ongoing response efforts.
