AFP, BBC win top French war reporting awards

The prestigious Bayeux War Correspondents’ Awards honoured journalists from AFP, the BBC, and others for their coverage of conflicts worldwide, with AFP photographer Mahmud Hams winning the top prize for his impactful photos from Gaza. Other winners included Andrew Harding of the BBC for his report on migrant smugglers, and Gaza journalist Rami Abou Jamous for his written account of fleeing Israeli forces. The awards also recognized the work of journalists covering the war in Ukraine, with the Public’s Choice award going to photographer Kostiantyn Liberov.
