The Peter McVerry Trust has requested full funding from the State for its homeless services, despite receiving a €15 million Government bailout. A report by the Comptroller & Auditor General revealed that an interim chief of the charity was paid €1,000 per day from the Department of Housing budget until a permanent chief executive was appointed in April. The trust’s financial situation and leadership structure have come under scrutiny as they continue to address the ongoing homeless crisis.
