NIST standards proposal looks to retire outdated authentication requirements like mandatory password resets

In response to the frustration of changing passwords frequently, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has proposed new credential standards to replace outdated rules. The second draft of Special Publication… outlines guidelines for password creation that aim to simplify the process and enhance security, moving away from unnecessary restrictions and regulations. These new standards aim to provide a more user-friendly experience while still ensuring the protection of sensitive information.
