US is sending more troops to Middle East as violence rises between Israel and Hezbollah

The U.S. is sending additional troops to the Middle East in response to increased violence between Israel and Hezbollah forces in Lebanon, raising the risk of a wider regional conflict. Pentagon press secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder did not disclose how many troops would be deployed or their specific mission. Currently, the U.S. has approximately 40,000 troops in the region.
