Childcare provider accused of obstructing Tusla inspector spared conviction after agreeing to pay €2,000 – The Irish Times

A South Co Dublin childcare provider, Padraig O’Connor, avoided a criminal record by paying €2,000 towards Tusla’s costs after pleading guilty to obstructing an inspection. The charges under the 1991 Childcare Act could have led to fines of €10,000, but O’Connor reached an agreement with the prosecution. Judge Anthony Halpin acknowledged O’Connor’s compliance with the guidelines during the court proceedings.
