Earth will have a minimoon for two months

Asteroid 2024 PT5 is heading towards Earth, expected to become a minimoon for two months instead of burning up in the atmosphere. Discovered on August 7, the 10-meter diameter asteroid will be a fleeting visitor in Earth’s gravitational grip. Astronomers Carlos de la Fuente Marcos and Raúl de la Fuente Marcos from the Complutense University of Madrid studied its motion to determine its trajectory.
