‘Super gap’: The reasons two-thirds of Australians can’t ‘retire comfortably’

The Association of Super Funds of Australia reports that only 30% of Australians have enough superannuation to retire comfortably, with couples needing $690,000 and singles needing $595,000 for retirement. The median super balance for men is still higher than that for women. Despite this, only around a third of Australians have enough super to support a comfortable retirement, according to the peak superannuation body in Australia.
