Falling temperatures and rising humidity are providing firefighters in Southern California with a brief opportunity to make progress against three major wildfires. Capt. Steve Concialdi noted that the improved weather conditions have been tremendously helpful in increasing containment lines and allowing firefighters to work longer hours. Overnight humidity levels exceeding 90% in some areas have been particularly beneficial in the battle against the Airport fire in Orange and Riverside counties.
