The Indonesian Government has agreed to implement tough new bans on hotel, villa, and nightclub development in certain areas of Bali due to overdevelopment. Co-ordinating Ministry of Maritime and Investment Affairs senior official Hermin Esti stated that a moratorium has been agreed upon, but a timeline is still being discussed. The government aims to address the challenges faced by the international tourist hotspot while protecting the island’s natural resources.
