Bulgaria Submits ‘Triumph’ Starring Maria Bakalova

Maria Bakalova, star and producer of Triumph, a darkly comedic movie by Bulgarian filmmakers Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov, has been chosen as Bulgaria’s entry for the 2025 Academy Awards. The film was selected unanimously by the country’s selection committee and is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Bakalova, known for her Oscar-nominated role in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, is set to make her mark as a producer with this highly anticipated submission.
