Chinese robot Tiangong runs 100 meters in under 9 seconds

China’s Tiangong Ultra humanoid robot set a new 100-meter record by completing the distance in 8.86 seconds at the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing, surpassing the previous record of 9.39 seconds it established earlier in the event. This time is also more than seven-tenths of a second faster than Usain Bolt’s human world record of 9.58 seconds. The rapid advancements in robot performance have drawn significant attention at the competition, which features over 2,000 robots from 666 teams.
