Former half-marathon world record holder Kibiwott Kandie has been banned for seven years by the Athletics Integrity Unit for two anti-doping violations. The Kenyan athlete was provisionally suspended in March 2025 for refusing a doping test and was later charged with tampering with doping control. His initial eight-year ban was reduced by one year after he accepted the sanctions. Kandie’s ban is effective until March 13, 2032.
