US watchdog investigates Tesla crash that killed woman

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation into a fatal crash involving a Tesla Model 3 in Texas that reportedly occurred while the vehicle was in self-driving mode. The crash, which resulted in the death of a 76-year-old woman, took place on June 19. The driver claimed to be using Tesla’s automated driving system, but Tesla executives, including CEO Elon Musk, disputed this, stating the driver manually accelerated the vehicle prior to the incident.
