Yemen’s government and the Houthi group have signed a UN-backed agreement in Jordan to exchange over 1,600 detainees, marking the largest swap since the civil war began in 2014. The deal includes the release of 580 prisoners by the Houthis and 1,100 by the government. Both sides are set to continue discussions on further releases and the International Committee of the Red Cross will facilitate the operation. This agreement highlights ongoing humanitarian concerns amidst the protracted conflict.
