Serbia and NATO have initiated their first joint military exercise, marking a significant step in cooperation between the alliance and the Balkan nation, less than 30 years after NATO’s bombing of Belgrade. The two-week drills involve around 600 troops from Serbia, Italy, Romania, and Turkiye, along with military planners from various countries. While Serbia maintains a policy of military neutrality, it has participated in NATO’s Partnership for Peace program for nearly two decades.
