A member of the Hells Angels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang has been arrested in New South Wales for allegedly impersonating a soldier. The arrest occurred on April 21, 2025, as part of Strike Force Benson, initiated by the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad to address criminal activities linked to the Hells Angels. Investigators discovered that the 41-year-old man had falsely claimed to be a former member of the Australian Defence Force (ADF), but checks revealed he had no military service records. Following his arrest in Peelwood, he was taken to Goulburn Police Station and charged with falsely representing himself as a returned soldier, sailor, or airman. He has been granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear in Goulburn Local Court soon. Investigations into the Hells Angels continue under this ongoing operation.

Why It Matters

Impersonating military personnel is a serious offense in Australia, reflecting a broader issue of respect and integrity concerning military service. Historical data indicates that such impersonations can undermine public trust in genuine veterans and the military community. The Hells Angels, as an outlaw motorcycle gang, have been under scrutiny for their involvement in organized crime, and operations like Strike Force Benson highlight ongoing law enforcement efforts to combat gang-related activities. The outcome of this case may have implications for how authorities address similar issues in the future.
