John Korir shattered the Boston Marathon record with a time of 2 hours, 1 minute, and 52 seconds, marking the fastest finish in the event’s 130-year history and the fifth-fastest marathon ever. In a dominant performance, he broke the previous record by 70 seconds, while Sharon Lokedi defended her women’s title with a finish of 2 hours, 18 minutes, and 51 seconds, leading a Kenyan sweep of the top four spots in the women’s race. The event took place under chilly conditions with a supportive tailwind.
