University of Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston is emerging as a notable prospect for the New York Jets ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. The Jets currently possess nine draft picks, including two in the first round (second and sixteenth overall) and two in the second round (thirty-third and forty-fourth overall). This strong position allows general manager Darren Mougey and his team to explore various options for their selections. Boston, who recently visited the Jets for a pre-draft assessment, is highlighted in a series of prospect previews leading up to the draft, which begins on April 23. Standing 6’3 5/8″ and weighing 212 pounds, Boston has showcased impressive stats, recording 62 receptions for 881 yards and 11 touchdowns in the 2025 season, alongside a total of 132 receptions and 20 touchdowns over his career. However, he is noted to lack top-end speed and may need to refine his route-running skills.
Why It Matters
Denzel Boston’s strong performance at the University of Washington, including his significant touchdown production, positions him as a valuable asset for the Jets as they aim to enhance their receiving corps. With the Jets holding multiple early-round picks, they have the opportunity to select players who can make an immediate impact on their roster. Historically, teams that secure top prospects in the early rounds of the NFL Draft often see substantial improvements in their performance, making it critical for the Jets to evaluate potential candidates like Boston thoroughly. The upcoming draft will also set the stage for how effectively the Jets can address their needs and build a competitive team for the future.
