A Wisconsin couple, Casey Cano, 38, and Mary Cano, 35, has been arrested for allegedly starving and abusing their six children over several years. The charges include six counts each of repeated physical abuse and child neglect, as well as one count related to causing a child under 13 to witness a sexual act. Prosecutors allege that between January 2018 and April 2022, the couple beat their children and withheld food as punishment, leading the children to consume mold, bugs, and dog food out of hunger. The children, aged between 1 and 9 during the abuse, were removed from the home in April 2022 due to a separate sexual abuse investigation involving another child. Both parents have previously been convicted of sexual assault against a minor. They were arrested in March 2023 and have since posted bond.
