US Supreme Court allows Steve Bannon’s criminal case to proceed

The U.S. Supreme Court has allowed the Justice Department to dismiss the criminal case against Steve Bannon, a close ally of former President Donald Trump, who was previously convicted of contempt of Congress for refusing to testify about the January 6 Capitol attack. Bannon served a four-month prison sentence, and while the dismissal will clear his conviction, it has little practical impact as he has already completed his sentence. Bannon, a significant figure in right-wing media, has resumed his activities, including hosting his podcast.
